In the short time since its inception in 2001, Vinyl Factory Manufacturing (Ex Portal Space Records) has established itself as a leading manufacturer of quality record pressings. Everything and everyone in the plant is dedicated to the provision of a fast, consistent and reliable supply to meet the needs of the customer.

As the inheritors of EMI’s equipment, knowledge and experience our roots go back to the very origins of record discs as a carrier of sound. This heritage includes EMI’s Type 1400 press. All our records are made on these machines which are the result of many years of design and development and are widely recognised as the best in the world.

The Vinyl Factory’s manufacturing philosophy recognises the vital role of people and to this end it has retained key staff from the former EMI Records plant to form the basis of a team who are proud to carry on the historic traditions associated with the best in the music industry.

This particular strain is looking like having one of the worst effects see to date. Virus come hard on TBOT delivering banger after banger, tracks like ‘ANYTHING’ produced by KROMESTAR, ‘MOVE IT’, the virally devastating ‘TALK TO FRANK’ also recently featured in CHANNEL 4’S SKINS and the terminally ill ‘CRAZY’ cause irreversible damage!

Following on from a fantastic 2009, which saw VS continue to spread across Europe and the US, with shows from Paris to Prague and Hackney to Hollywood 2010 looks set to continue at the same devastating gradient.

First up is the MIAMI MUSIC CONFERENCE in March, followed by GLASTONBURY and a full US tour in July!!

By the time they return from Miami they’ll be set to promote their two new single projects the first being ‘DUNCE BOI’ produced by STENCHMAN which features nerve shattering remixes by JAKWOB, MRK1 and DZ. Then next up I’ll be the official release of ‘MOVE IT’ a track that after DEFECTED’S Simon Dunmore heard MISTA JAM play on RADIO 1 singed as one of the official remixes of the forthcoming Reel 2 Reel re release!

Growing up in London, Matt Mason began DJing as a teen on the pirate radio stations ICE FM and MAC FM. Inspired by the flexibility and longevity of pirate radio culture, in 2008 he wrote the bestselling book  The Pirate’s Dilemma, exploring the paradox of media piracy. He took time out from a busy schedule as a lecturer (and from writing his second book) to serve as our guide to the UK’s Pirate Frequencies.

Its actually a really interesting 15 minute video, well worth a watch!! It touches on stations such as Kool FM, Rinse FM and Flex FM
